Fifth Grade
This year, Fifth Grade Drama will be a little different. We have decided to have two major focal points this year. The first will take place just before our Holiday Break in December, where students will learn some American History through the musical Hamilton. Then, at the end of the year, students will be attending drama on a daily basis to study William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Midsummer Night's Dream
Using the district's CKLA program students will discover Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. We will look at it through the Language Arts lens as well as that of theatre. Because Shakespeare's plays were intended to be heard and seen, rather than read, and emphasis will be made on the performance aspects of the play. We are hoping to have a few fun surprises for students during this unit!
